Evolve The Game
"VPSM started a project on Instagram called @handlebypeezy in February of 2019. After often receiving requests from athletes inquiring about what ball handling drills they can do in order to improve their handles, @handlebypeezy was started on Instagram in order to provide those eager to improve their ball handling abilities with some visuals of what drills they can use and incorporate into their own workouts.
@handlebypeezy was originally an Instagram based project that covered all things handle related, from ball handling drills, tips, routines, tricks, workouts, and more. The page has since evolved to also include overall player development (not just with a handles based focus) and also x’s and o’s for interested coaches, among other hoops related content. The page will continue to evolve for all things hoops related in the near future.
@HandlebyPeezy began as a platform during my professional playing days. The page and name was originally created because of athletes always asking for ball handling workouts and advice, hence the focus centered on handles.
The professional playing days are now over and currently I am a professional head coach who focuses on all aspects of the game.
I will still share handles-related content as I come from a player development background having worked with the world’s greatest player development coaches during my high school, college, and young pro days.
But I try to do all things hoops related, which is why you will now see the @handlebypeezy page has changed to @evolve.the.game and is now covering a number of topics, from x’s and o’s, to sports nutrition, to recovery, to player development, to modern leadership, and anything that I think can help athletes or coaches evolve their abilities with the game of basketball.
With basketball experience in 28 countries, I am constantly trying to evolve my coaching abilities as a result of different learnings and experiences.
Aside from being a FIBA certified coach, I am also the president of a sports management company, the co-owner of a basketball academy, the co-creator of Pro Coaches Academy, a certified sports nutritionist, a soon to be certified yoga trainer, a sports writer and now author, an advanced scout, am working on the sports psychology certification, and am obsessed with modern leadership. I believe that in order to be the best players or coaches that we can possibly be, we must keep evolving, and expanding our minds and bodies in more ways than one.
That’s why this page is now called “Evolve The Game.” Through various hoops content, I will strive to continue to evolve myself, the abilities and knowledge of my players, and the abilities and knowledge of any hoops fans that follow the @evolve.the.game Instagram page.
I am obsessed with the game of basketball. This page will embody that as I try to evolve my understanding of how to be great in this sport. I encourage the followers of this page, whether players, coaches, or just hoops fans, to avoid being stuck in their ways and to continue to grow and evolve as the game continues to do the same."
